CPF Mission

The Claims Processing Facility, Inc. (CPF) provides asbestos claim processing services to the Eagle-Picher Industries Personal Injury Settlement Trust (EPI), the UNR Asbestos Disease Claims Trust (UNR), and the Keene Creditors Trust (KCT). The CPF provides services to its owner, EPI, as well as on a contract basis to UNR and KCT. The primary mission of the CPF is to provide a high quality and low cost claim processing solution to its members and the asbestos community at large. CPF and its co-founding members helped pioneer this developing field and remain at its forefront with innovative solutions, efficient processing methods, and responsiveness to the claimants’ community. CPF’s adaptable and flexible business model, coupled with an integrated team of highly qualified and experienced staff, enables it to meet the ever evolving needs and challenges of its current and potential new Trusts.

To achieve its mission over the longer term, CPF is currently exploring opportunities to increase its claim processing turnover by attracting potential new Trusts to the organization. By amortizing its overhead costs over the collective claim processing volume of all Trusts, CPF produces a much lower unit processing cost, which accrues to the benefit of all interested parties, including asbestos victims, claimants’ counsel, and new and existing Trusts.

CPF has extensive experience with all aspects of claim processing, but one of our key strengths is the ability to rapidly assimilate other trusts and quickly begin processing large numbers of claims, and then sustain that processing volume with uncompromising quality at low cost. This strength is the byproduct of processing over ONE MILLION CLAIMS claims for the EPI, UNR and Keene Trusts, and using cost effective systems, controls and claim processing methods. Our staff is highly skilled in analyzing medical and exposure information and in applying member specific validation criteria. Claim input and processing data are also subjected to rigorous quality audits to maintain the high standards mandated by each Trust.

CPF offers one of the lowest cost structures in the asbestos claim processing industry and has been specifically designed for expansion. Our business model has been designed to provide claim processing services at a low competitive cost, and offers a viable long-term economic solution to existing and newly forming asbestos trusts. Claims are processed at-cost, eliminating the profit margin that would normally be charged by an independent third party processor.
